Colt Frontier Six Shooter Single Action Army 1st Generation in 44-40, 340XXX manufactured 1920. Features 5 ½” barrel with nickel plated finish, fitted with black checkered rubber grips. Very good condition retaining 80% of the re-nickeled finish. Grips are slightly undersized & unmarked on backside of panels. Mechanically excellent with bright bore & crisp action. Comes with Colt factory letter confirming configuration & states this Colt was one of three revolvers shipped on September 17, 1920 to Momsen, Dunnegan, Ryan Company in El Paso, Texas. Also accompanied with authentic black leather drop loop holster rig crafted by legendary leather & holster maker S.D. Myres of El Paso, Texas. The holster itself is marked, “S.D. MYRES/EL PASO.TEX.” & Features an interesting Spring Break Hammer Thong. The belt is marked under flap with “MADE BY SHORTY ROBINSON EL CAJON”, more than likely an employee of S.D. MYRES. The belt contains 24 cartridge loops with 30” waist size.
